| Good Friends at 'Good Friends'... |
At 'Good Friends' a China Restaurant where we ate after leaving the Berlinale awards night spent in the Audi Lounge with D and others. It was absolutely an INCREDIBLE evening and just one among many highlights of my time spent in Berlin!
It rained all day long from the time we left in the afternoon to go to brunch at a home in Berlin with new friends: a young woman a Chef and her friend both from Montreal, a young man from India, a German language teacher and our host a German/American gentleman... the food was AMAZING, thank you, Chef! After leaving, D and I walked around the neighborhood of Treptower Park "Treptower Park is a park alongside the river Spree in Alt-Treptow, in the district of Treptow-Köpenick, south of central Berlin. It is a popular place for recreation of Berliners and a tourist attraction". Wikipedia At the Schlesisches Tor, I realized this was the area I stayed upon arriving in Berlin 3 months ago.
At Pots Damer Platz to the final day of Berlinale, we met with a long line of movie star fans and the road blocked off due to cars carrying VIP's for the awards ceremony at Berlinale Palast. Talk about "being in the right place at the right time", D's galpal who is one of the organizers was standing in the window right above where we were attempting to get in, she finally saw us and came down to retrieve us from the crowd standing out in the rain. A nice hot espresso, a warm place to stand on the heated balcony while watching the arrivals below, then a place to sit inside while watching the awards on the big screen in the Audi Lounge, thank you again, C... we thoroughly ENJOYED closing day of the Berlin Film Festival!
Friends, in the film industry, of D's picked us up at the train station, we snagged a parking space right away, then headed to dinner at 'Good Friends'. Following we all went home our separate ways and for me straight to bed after yet another long but INCREDIBLE day in Berlin with... GOOD FRIENDS!
